Dr. Christine Clark, PhD

French native, Dr. Clark studied in the Sorbonne in Paris and went on to obtain a PhD in the States. Fluent in French, English and Spanish, she has been an expat for more than 33 years , moved to 8 different countries with her husband and children and has developed strategic skills to enable new expats to cope with their new circumstances, with a specific emphasis on helping spouses and children to adapt and to overcome culture shock.

 

Gregory Clark

American native, Gregory Clark, partner in the Guyanese law firm of Hughes, Fields & Stoby, has lived as an expat for over 25 years and is focused on helping employees understand cross-cultural differences in business dealings and etiquette as well as outlining the legal requirements for entering into Guyana.

 

Nigel Hughes

Guyanese native, Nigel Hughes is the managing partner of the Guyanese premier law firm of Hughes, Fields & Stoby and is intent on providing excellent legal services as well as support to the expat community in Guyana.

 

 

Damon Grenion

Guyanese native operating in the service industry for over 20 years, especially in providing support to expats in Guyana. He is CEO of Nugenhomes Realty Logistics and Exports, owner of Buddy’s Gym Therapeutic Center, director of ONYX (investment group focused on Real Estate, transportation and agriculture).

 

Dr. Brian Grim

Brian J. Grim, Ph. D., is president of the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation (RFBF) and a leading expert on international religious demography and the socio-economic impact of restrictions on religious freedom. Brian also supports and works closely with the “Business for Peace” platform of the United Nations Global Compact. Brian is research associate at Boston University’s Institute on Culture, Religion & World Affairs (CURA) and a Non-Resident Scholar at the Institute for the Studies of Religion (ISR) at Baylor University. He is also a Distinguished Fellow at the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute in Washington, DC. Brian was previously an advisor for the religion & geopolitics project of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and an associate scholar at the Religious Liberty Project at Georgetown University

Prior to becoming the Foundation’s founding president in 2014, Brian directed the largest social science effort to collect and analyze global data on religion at the Pew Research Center. He also worked for two decades as an educator in the former Soviet Union, China, Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Brian holds a doctorate in sociology from the Pennsylvania State University and is author of numerous articles and books including The Price of Freedom Denied (Cambridge Univ. Press), The World Religion Database (Brill), The World’s Religions in Figures (Wiley) and The Yearbook of International Religious Demography (Brill).

Brian has appeared as an expert on global religion on numerous media outlets, including CNN, BBC, Fox, CBS, C-SPAN, and regularly presents to high level audiences throughout the world including the White House, State Department, European Parliament, the Vatican, and various the United Nations bodies including the Human Rights Council, and the UN Alliance of Civilizations and the UN Global Compact.

FOR YOUR COMPANY, HE IS OFFERING A SPECIAL WORKSHOP : WORKPLACE RELIGIOUS DIVERSITY & INCLUSION (Growing the Bottom Line through Market Understanding, Client Satisfaction, Employee Retention and respectful Communication). Training will result in a better understanding for working in Guyana.

The Religious Freedom Center, in collaboration with the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation, has developed education programs for businesses and organizations across the globe, including full and half-day seminars focused on middle management and executives. Through analytical skills practice and building the knowledge necessary to operate in a religiously diverse context, the RD&I training will enable people to gain an inclusive mindset that creates a workplace where employees can bring their whole selves to work. The seminar includes pre- and post-tests, interactive exercises and concrete tools for actively fostering RD&I in the workplace and religious understanding for success in the marketplace.

 

Sophia Clark

Native French-American, Sophia Clark is an interior designer by formation, world traveller by passion, she has an appreciation for beautifully designed spaces that transcend borders and people, while preserving cultural roots.  She believes that the interior design of any space should personify the essence of the person occupying it. With a Master Degree in Interior Design with a specialisation in furniture design, looks forward to helping you feel at home anywhere!

 

Deborah Limas

Certified life coach with experience in expat counseling. Also specializes in marital counseling and children adapting , with an emphasis in neurophysiology of learning and education for children with special needs. Passionate about serving and guiding, Deborah has helped individuals and couples to obtain emotional health for more than 10 years.
